Rebuilding a Global Energy Company's Library

LAC launched a new staffing project at a global energy organization to build back library services for the company. The outsourced LAC staff at the library, together with company employees, worked together seamlessly and LAC had primary responsibility for maintaining the intellectual property resources.

When a company employee had a question, our Information Services team, using InfoRes, a unique intranet website, answered and connected the requestor to hundreds of subscription resources. In addition, the InfoRes team was personally accessible via the company internal website and included staff who provided individualized searching assistance. InfoRes is evolving to become a community where people share knowledge freely -- enhanced by a website overhaul ongoing in 2008, which will include blogs and a wiki. What better way to get the word out about vetted resources available to all, and user-generated knowledge, than through the users themselves?
